Bronx Community College and CUNY commissioned Dattner to create a new one-stop facility centralizing administrative departments including Admissions, Financial Aid, Bursar, and Registrar in an existing library within a Marcel Breuer campus building. As architect and main designer, I worked with the client and project team to develop a new scheme that enhanced the function and efficiency of the administrative offices as well as precipitate a complete cultural change in the way the departments interact with each other and with students.
I developed presentation diagrams in the beginning of the process to lead the client through the design and present them with layout options. As we moved through the design phases, I detailed the complexities of integrating the new entry in the existing building, ultimately leading the submission of the Construction Document Set that captured our entire scope.
